Stretch marks, also known as striae, are a familiar issue faced by many individuals. These distinct lines appear on the skin when it experiences rapid stretching, often presenting in shades of red, purple, or white with silvery undertones.
While stretch marks pose no medical risk, they can have an effect on self-esteem and confidence. At Este Medical, our Bristol stretch mark removal treatments are designed to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and rejuvenate the appearance of the skin.
Our treatment range – which includes our laser stretch mark removal in Bristol treatment – blends state-of-the-art technology with the unmatched expertise of our Este Medical specialists to deliver outstanding results for our valued clients seeking smoother and more uniform skin.
When skin is stretched quickly, the collagen and elastin foundations of the skin can break, and that's when stretch marks appear. You may develop stretch marks at times of extreme body changes. These include -

Most stretch marks fade and diminish over time. They will become much less noticeable, but it can take a matter of years for this change to occur. You can help your skin to heal faster by staying hydrated, and/or applying specialist creams that include ingredients such as retinol, hyaluronic acid, coconut oil and silicone.
Is it possible to prevent stretch marks?
The best thing you can do to help avoid stretch marks is to eat healthily and maintain a regular weight. Of course, sometimes we don’t have control over these growth spurts – in puberty for instance – so, sadly, it’s not always feasible to avoid gaining stretch marks.
How common are stretch marks?
Stretch marks are incredibly common. It is estimated that around 50% - 90% of women have stretch marks, but it’s not uncommon for men to have them too. During puberty, girls may develop stretch marks on their breasts, thighs, hips or bum, while teenage boys could see them appear on their hips and/or lower back.
How long before I see the final result?
The final result can take up to 60 days post treatment (sometimes longer for darker skin types). Remember that you will require 2-3 sessions. Taking good care of the treated area can induce healing quicker.
