Dermal fillers are an injectable treatment made from Hyaluronic Acid – this is an acid that is found naturally in our bodies. Hyaluronic Acid has a plumping effect because it ‘sucks up’ moisture.
Dermal fillers come in different levels of thickness so that they can work on varying facial regions. Once you have had your consultation with one of our highly skilled team at Este Medical, we will be able to determine which dermal filler is right for you.
Dermal fillers, when used by trained professionals in a clean and safe environment, pose little risk to the client. There may be some side effects such as bruising, swelling or itching. The procedure itself is relatively pain-free.
The filler is injected into your skin so there is a thin needle involved, but we use a small amount of local anaesthetic cream or injection to help numb the area beforehand so that any discomfort is minimal.
You will notice results instantly. However, results from dermal fillers are not a permanent fix as the Hyaluronic Acid gets absorbed by your body over time.
Results vary from person to person. Depending on the dermal filler that is used in your procedure, you could see results last up to two years. However it is more usual that to maintain results, you will need to revisit Este Medical more regularly than that – from 3-12 months.
As with any procedure, we advise to take things a little easier than usual after a dermal filler procedure. Don’t touch your face for six hours after your treatment – this is to avoid infection. We also advise you to wait a week after your treatment before you undertake strenuous exercise. It’s advisable to also avoid yoga as inversions can pose a risk of bruising and swelling to the area.
Most clients don’t experience any problems after their dermal filler procedure, but if you find that you have mild bruising or swelling, we recommend placing an ice pack on the area to help reduce the sensation.
At Este Medical we believe that lip fillers are safe. The procedure is conducted safely and hygienically by a trained professional so that you can feel confident in the experience. Of course, as with all treatments, there is always a small risk of unwanted side effects. These, however, are rare.
Reactions to lip filler treatments vary from person to person, and for some, lip fillers can make their lips bleed. However, you can take precautions to minimise this potential side effect by ensuring you don’t drink alcohol for at least two days before and after your treatment.
Lip fillers are made from a synthetic non-animal based form of Hyaluronic Acid. This is a product that is found naturally within the body.
The effects of lip fillers differ from person to person and results do vary. It is usual for results to last up to six to nine months. This all depends on the area treated, the amount of product used, and your body’s response to the filler.
